Gametogenic cycle of Mesodesma donacium in Mehuin beach, Valdivia, Chile, July 1989 to June 1991

Gonad stage: Percentage (from a montly sample of 30 clams) of male and female clams classified into four gonad stages: inmature, mature, late maturity, spawned, regression. Classification was made after histological examination of Bouin-preserved gonad samples. Tissue embedded in paraffin after dehydration, sectioned at 7 µm and stained with standard haematoxylin-eosin stain before examination. Data points were extracted from figure 9 using Data Thief III software.性腺分期（Gonad stage）：统计雌雄蛤的性腺分期占比，数据源自每月采集的30只蛤的样本，受试蛤的性腺分期分为未成熟、成熟、晚熟、产卵后、退化共5个阶段。分期分类均通过对经Bouin固定液保存的性腺样本开展组织学检查完成。性腺组织经脱水后进行石蜡包埋，以7微米厚度切片，采用标准苏木精-伊红染色法染色后再进行镜检。本数据集的数据点均通过Data Thief III软件从图9中提取得到。
