Ocean currents measured by Shipboard Acoustic Doppler Current Profilers (SADCP) during the R/V Point Sur cruise PS17_06 in the northern Gulf of Mexico from 2016-09-18 to 2016-09-27

This dataset contains ocean currents data from Shipboard Acoustic Doppler Current Profilers (SADCP) collected during the R/V Point Sur cruise PS17_06 in the northern Gulf of Mexico from 2016-09-18 to 2016-09-27. The experimental site is on the continental slope of the northern Gulf of Mexico, next to the Deepwater Horizon Spill site. The raw ADCP data were collected and processed using the University of Hawaii data acquisition system (UHDAS) during the cruise. The post-cruise data processing were conducted by the University of Hawaii using the CODAS (Common Ocean Data Access System) processing. This dataset contains both raw and processed data. There were two vessel-mounted ADCPs on Point Sur operating at 75 kHz and 300 kHz respectively. Both were manufactured by RD Instruments.

本数据集涵盖2016年9月18日至2016年9月27日，于墨西哥湾北部开展的R/V Point Sur航次PS17_06中采集的船载声学多普勒流速剖面仪（Shipboard Acoustic Doppler Current Profilers，SADCP）海流观测数据。本次实验站位设置于墨西哥湾北部大陆坡，紧邻“深水地平线”漏油事故现场。航次执行期间，原始声学多普勒流速剖面仪（Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler，ADCP）数据通过夏威夷大学数据采集系统（University of Hawaii Data Acquisition System，UHDAS）完成采集与处理。航次后的数据处理工作由夏威夷大学依托通用海洋数据访问系统（Common Ocean Data Access System，CODAS）开展。本数据集同时包含原始观测数据与经处理后的最终数据。R/V Point Sur研究船搭载了两台船载ADCP，工作频率分别为75 kHz与300 kHz，两款仪器均由RD Instruments公司生产制造。
