Lagrangian Drifter Laboratory at Scripps Institution of Oceanography GTS Atlantic Hurricane 2021 Data

This data set encompasses observations from surface drifters from the Lagrangian Drifter Laboratory (LDL) at Scripps Institution of Oceanography that reported to the Global Telecommunications Service (GTS) during the Atlantic 2021 hurricane season from June 1, 2021, to November 30, 2021, within the geographic range from 0°N to 40°N and 100°W to 40°W. The drifters include a suite of drifter types (https://gdp.ucsd.edu/ldl/drifter-types/). These include Surface Velocity Program (SVP) drifters, with and without barometers, MiniMet (SVPBW) drifters, and Directional Wave Spectra Drifters (DWSD), with and without barometers. The drifters were deployed by ship and air. Reported variables include surface temperature, sea level pressure, wind speed and direction, and wave properties.
