Although urbanization is associated with vegetation decline, specific urban conditions may instead stimulate vegetation growth, producing offset effects. However, the spatiotemporal evolution and underlying drivers of these effects remain insufficiently understood, hindering their integration into sustainable urban planning. Here, using satellite observations, we assessed the offset effect index (τ) across 806 built-up areas in China from 1985 to 2024, quantifying both its spatial distribution and temporal evolution. This is the urban offset effect data for article analysis, accompanied by a SHP format file of urban locations.<br>
尽管城市化通常与植被退化存在关联,但特定的城市环境反而可能促进植被生长,进而产生抵消效应。然而,此类效应的时空演变与潜在驱动机制仍未得到充分阐释,阻碍了其在可持续城市规划中的落地应用。本研究基于卫星观测数据,针对1985年至2024年间中国806个建成区的抵消效应指数(offset effect index, τ)展开评估,量化了该指数的空间分布与时空演变特征。本数据集为本文分析所用的城市抵消效应数据,配套提供了城市区位的SHP格式文件。
