Data to conduct three-level mixed effect meta-analytic models to determine the direction and magnitud of the effect of lianas on tree growth, growth, biomass accumulation, reproduction, mortality, leaf water potential, sap flow velocity in ecological, silvicultural and logging studies. ID = unique number per published liana removal experiment; Year = year of publication; Author = author/s that published liana removal experiment; Category = Ecological, Silvicultural, Logging; GrowthRed = studies that assessed growth reduction due to lianas; Mortality = studies that assessed increased in mortality due to lianas; TreeDiversity = studies that assessed changes in tree diversity due to lianas; Reproduction = studies that assessed reduction in reproduction due to lianas; BiomassAcum = studies that assessed changes in biomass accumulation due to lianas; Opennes = studies that assessed changes in canopy openness due to liana removal; Recruitment = studies that assessed changes in recruitment due to lianas; LeafWaterPotential = studies that assessed changes in leaf water potential potential after liana removal; SapFlow = studies that assessed changes in sap flow after liana removal; LAI-PAI = studies that assessed changes in leaf area index or plant area index due to liana removal; TimeEffect = number of days from liana removal to reported effect; Country = country where liana removal experiment was performed; Holdridge = Life Zone according to Holdrigde 1964; MAP = mean annual precipitation; Elevation = in meters above sea level; MeanExp1 = mean effect of manipulation where lianas were removed; MeanControl1 = mean effect of the control where lianas were not removed; STDEVPool = pooled standard deviation from manipulation and control; SDExp = standard deviation from manipulation where lianas were removed; SDCont = standard deviation from control where lianas were not removed; NExp = sample size for liana removal treatment; NCont = sample size for control treatment; Ntotal = sum of sample sizes from both treatments; TimeSteps = number of times removals and controls experiment were measured through time.
