The purpose of the dataset C. elegans terminal bulb aging is to deduce the age of the nemathode based on images of the pharynx terminal bulb (part of the eating apparatus). Images of C. elegans were taken at different chronological ages. This image is part of the day 4 data set. Note that the morphological and chronological ages are not fully correlated due to the variability among individuals even though the individuals are genetically identical. The source for the dataset is Laboratory of Genetics/NIA/NIH.

本数据集为秀丽隐杆线虫（C. elegans）咽部（pharynx）端球衰老数据集，其核心用途为基于咽部端球（进食器官的组成部分）的图像推断线虫的实际年龄。该数据集的图像采集自不同实际日龄的秀丽隐杆线虫，此图像属于第4天数据集的一部分。需注意，即便个体遗传背景完全一致，由于个体间存在自然差异，形态年龄与实际日龄仍无法完全相关联。本数据集的来源为遗传学实验室/美国国家衰老研究所（NIA）/美国国立卫生研究院（NIH）。
