本研究对第9号全基因组节段的核苷酸（nucleotide，nt）序列、VP6与NS4开放阅读框（open reading frame，ORF）及氨基酸（amino acid，aa）序列开展了比对分析[注]。鉴于非洲马瘟病毒（African Horse Sickness Virus，AHSV）-6（NC006019）与AHSV-1（1180）的预测NS4蛋白长度显著短于其余所有分离株，故将二者从本次分析中剔除。本研究同时总结了AHSV Seg-9、VP6及NS4在进化枝I与II内部以及两进化枝之间的序列同一性百分比情况。
