Shows 96.52% sequence similarity to the type strain Bacillus wakoensis N-1(T) (AB043851). It grows on MA medium at 28 °C. The colonies are circular, white, opaque at both the margin and center, with a smooth, non-moist surface, regular margins, no halo, slightly convex centrally, with a diameter of 1.0–2.0 mm, and capable of degrading alginate.
