Data collection methods are described in Methods. Tree-level completion data was collected in the field and tree ring data was measured in laboratory using standard techniques. Year = Calendar year of tree ring; ST_ID = Unique ID for each subject tree; Canopy_Class = Canopy position of subject tree, either dominant (DO) or intermediate (IN); ST_DBH = diameter at breast height of subject tree; HCI = Hegyi's Competition Index; DIB = Diameter inside bark; Comp_Class = Categorical grouping based on HCI; SW = avg. distance (cm) of sapwood on increment cores; Age = age at breast height when tre was sampled; Stand_ID = Unique ID for each stand; PLW_Class = Categorical grouping based on PLW; BAI = Basal area increment; BAI.rwi = Index based on BAI; EWA = Earlywood area increment; EWA.rwi = Index based on EWA; LWA = Latewood area increment; LWA.rwi = index based on LWA; PDSI = Palmer Drought Severity Index for NCDC WA Div 9; PLW = Proportion of latewood
本数据集的采集方法详见《Methods》。林木层级补全数据采自野外实地,树木年轮数据则在实验室中采用标准技术完成测定。其中,Year为对应树木年轮的公历年份(Calendar year);ST_ID为每棵供试树木的唯一识别编号;Canopy_Class为供试树木的冠层位置,分为优势木(dominant, DO)与中间木(intermediate, IN)两类;ST_DBH为供试树木的胸径(diameter at breast height);HCI为赫吉竞争指数(Hegyi's Competition Index);DIB为树皮内径(Diameter inside bark);Comp_Class为基于HCI的分类分组;SW为增量样芯上边材的平均距离,单位为厘米(avg. distance (cm) of sapwood on increment cores);Age为供试树木采样时胸径处的树龄;Stand_ID为每个样地的唯一识别编号;PLW_Class为基于PLW的分类分组;BAI为断面积生长量(Basal area increment);BAI.rwi为基于BAI构建的生长指数;EWA为早材面积生长量(Earlywood area increment);EWA.rwi为基于EWA构建的生长指数;LWA为晚材面积生长量(Latewood area increment);LWA.rwi为基于LWA构建的生长指数;PDSI为美国国家气候数据中心华盛顿州第9分区的帕尔默干旱严重度指数(Palmer Drought Severity Index for NCDC WA Div 9);PLW为晚材占比(Proportion of latewood)。
