This dataset contains shotgun metagenomic raw sequence reads from the gut microbiome of Holotrichia longipennis (Coleoptera: Scarabaeidae).Five healthy white grub specimens of approximately the same size were selected as biological replicates for the analysis. Samples were collected from different gut sections: foregut (FG), midgut (MG), and hindgut (HG).Each sample was processed in triplicate as technical replicates to ensure reproducibility and minimize experimental variation. The study investigates microbial diversity and functional potential, with a focus on nitrogen metabolism. Sequencing was performed using [insert sequencing platform, e.g., Illumina NovaSeq] to generate high-quality reads. The goal is to explore microbial community composition and their role in nitrogen cycling within the gut ecosystem of Holotrichia longipennis.
