Atomic dynamics during radiation induced solid-solid transitions

We propose to probe the beam induced dynamics in a α-quartz single crystal by means of X-ray photo correlation spectroscopy (XPCS). We expect an amorphization process analogue to that measured in the neutron irradiated crystalline samples. Furthermore, we will monitor the structure of the irradiated sample using an additional detector mounted near the sample stage. The experiment would provide a complete structural and dynamical analysis of the solid-solid transition pumped by the ionizing beam.

我们拟采用X射线光子关联光谱（X-ray Photo Correlation Spectroscopy, XPCS）探究α-石英单晶中光束诱导的动力学行为。我们预期会观察到与中子辐照晶体样品中测得的非晶化过程相似的现象。此外，我们将通过安装在样品台附近的附加探测器监测辐照样品的结构。该实验将为电离束驱动的固-固相变提供全面的结构与动力学分析。
