High-Resolution Radar–Gauge Merged Rainfall Dataset over Singapore (100 m, 5-min and hourly)

This dataset supports the study “Equatorial Extreme Convective Storms Are Expanding and Becoming More Persistent” and provides high-resolution rainfall reanalysis products over Singapore at 100 m spatial resolution. The dataset includes 5-minute rainfall data for the period 2020–2024 and hourly rainfall data for 1980–2024. All products are generated using a Kriging with External Drift (KED) radar–gauge merging approach, which integrates rain gauge observations with X-band radar data to improve both spatial detail and quantitative accuracy. The dataset is provided in the UTC+8 time zone and stored as daily NetCDF files, with rainfall units in mm. These data enable the investigation of sub-hourly to multi-decadal variability in tropical rainfall, particularly for extreme convective events and their spatiotemporal structure.
