The study tested the hypothesis that continuous measurements of muscle sympathetic nervous activity (MSNA) are associated with changes in cerebral blood flow as measured with transcranial Doppler ultrasound in the middle cerebral artery (MCAv). Partial coherence analysis was adopted to test this association and the the response of MCAv to step changes in arterial blood pressure and MSNA were described, the latter for the first time.

本研究验证了如下假设:肌肉交感神经活动(muscle sympathetic nervous activity, MSNA)的连续测量值与经颅多普勒超声所测大脑中动脉血流速度(middle cerebral artery velocity, MCAv)的变化存在关联。研究采用部分相干分析检验该关联,并描述了MCAv对动脉血压阶跃变化的反应,以及MCAv对MSNA阶跃变化的反应——后者为首次报道。
