资源简介:
This repository contains the complete reproducibility package for the study:“National water–carbon accounting in the Maldives: desalination-associated ledger reconciliation and CO₂ exposure.”The repository enables full reproduction of the national-scale water–carbon accounting framework developed in the study. It includes processed input datasets, scenario parameters, validation data, and executable model code used to generate all figures and tables presented in the manuscript and Supplementary Information. The accounting framework operates at the national scale and integrates:Population and tourism-driven water demand reconstructionDesalination production and system utilization dataEnergy intensity and grid carbon intensity assumptionsClimate-derived evapotranspiration inputs (FAO-56 methodology; CHIRPS climate data)Scenario analyses exploring demand, energy-mix, and technology sensitivityValidation datasets used to assess model consistencyThe repository includes:Core accounting model implementation (Python script and Jupyter notebook)Cleaned, model-ready national input datasetsScenario definition tablesValidation datasetsReproduction instructions and dependency specificationsAll input datasets are derived from publicly available sources, including CHIRPS climate data, FAO-56 methodology, EMBER electricity statistics, UNWTO tourism statistics, and the National Bureau of Statistics Maldives. Processed and harmonized datasets are provided here to ensure transparent and complete reproducibility of the reported results. This repository is intended to support transparent evaluation of water–energy–carbon linkages in small island developing states (SIDS) and to facilitate independent replication and extension of the accounting framework.
