Replication Data for: Ocean freshening near the end of the Mesozoic

Simulations were carried out using Earth System Model COSMOS in a coupled atmosphere-ocean configuration. Ocean component MPI-OM is run in the GR30/L40 configuration, with a formal horizontal resolution of 3.0° × 1.8° and 40 unequal vertucal layers. MPI-OM includes a dynamic-thermodynamic sea-ice model utilizing a viscous-plastic rheology. Atmospheric component ECHAM5 is run in T31/L19 configuration and has a horizontal resolution of ~3.75°. ECHAM5 includes hydrological discharge model constitutes a part of atmospheric component and simulates freshwater fluxes over the land surface.
