Oxide ion conductors are key components in a number of technologically important applications. Our research programme on the development of new oxide ion conductors, using neutron scattering methods in conjunction with computational modelling, has resulted in new insight into the relationships between structure, dynamics and properties in some of the leading solid electrolytes. In this proposal we request 3 days of POLARIS beamtime to investigate the structural properties of a new family of oxide ion conductors. POLARIS will be essential to understand both their long-range average structure and the detailed changes in local coordination environments responsible for conductivity.
氧化物离子导体(oxide ion conductors)是众多技术关键应用中的核心组件。我们通过中子散射方法结合计算建模开展新型氧化物离子导体的研发项目,已对部分主流固体电解质中结构、动力学与性能之间的关系获得了新的见解。本提案中,我们申请3天的POLARIS光束时间,以研究一类新型氧化物离子导体的结构特性。POLARIS对于理解其长程平均结构,以及与导电性相关的局部配位环境的详细变化至关重要。
