This presentation was delivered at FORCE16 in Portland, OR. Librarians have a unique perspective on the scholarly ecosystem as authors, consumers, and stewards. This perspective, combined with our roles in collecting and curating information, enables librarians to identify changes in policy, practice, and technology that can improve the openness, transparency, and sustainability of the scholarly ecosystem. It also reveals opportunities for aligning institutional and professional incentives with these changes. I will share examples of evidence used in my promotion and tenure dossier to demonstrate how librarian practitioner-scholars can be both advocates and exemplars for the changes we want to see in open access, data, and educational resources.

本次报告于美国俄勒冈州波特兰市举办的FORCE16会议上发表。图书馆员作为学术生态(scholarly ecosystem)的创作者、使用者与管理者,拥有独特的审视视角。结合我们在信息收集与整理领域的职责,这一视角能够帮助图书馆员识别可提升学术生态开放性、透明度与可持续性的政策、实践与技术变革,同时也揭示了将机构与行业激励机制与这类变革相契合的潜在契机。我将分享本人用于晋升与终身教职评审档案的实证案例,以此说明兼具实践与学术双重身份的图书馆员,如何能够成为开放获取(Open Access)、数据与教育资源领域目标变革的倡导者与典范。
