To understand the genetic regulatory mechanisms and their contribution to heterosis, we evaluated the genetic and gene expression divergences between hybrids and parents. Cellular processes represented by DEGs, transcription factors associated with cabbage head growth and development, and the cis- and trans-regulatory divergences were investigated. Our research provides a comprehensive perspective on the gene expression changes and their correlations in the cabbage head heterosis.
