Kidney Stone Removal Procedures

The kidney stone removal procedure codeset was developed for the USDHub study as a study inclusion criteria in order to identify patients who had underwent a kidney stone removal procedure. The concept set includes a column called "cluster" which differentiates between surgery types: ureteroscopy (px_urs), shockwave lithotripsy (px_swl), percutaneous nephrolithotomy (px_pcnl), and robotic/laparoscopic/open (px_stone_removal_other). The concept set is intended to be specific to removal of kidney and ureteral stones and does not include codes for diagnostic kidney stone procedures (i.e. diagnostic ureteroscopy).
