Data listed are the results of thermodynamic Gibbs energy calculations performed from a depth profile of the CSW1.1 well at the Coast Range Ophiolite Microbial Observatory, California, USA in June 2016 using a set of predetermined reactions. The Gibbs energy change associated with reactions involving H2, CH4, CO, and acetate as electron donors and O2, NO3-, and SO42- as electron acceptors used measured fluid chemistries in Table 1. The data was calculated using the activities established by fluid speciation calculations performed using Geochemist’s Workbench (Aqueous Solutions LLC, Champaign, IL, USA). Data was collected to assess the energy available for microbes to survive in these energy-limited fluids.

本次收录的数据,为2016年6月在美国加利福尼亚州海岸带蛇绿岩微生物观测站(Coast Range Ophiolite Microbial Observatory)的CSW1.1井深度剖面中,通过预设的一系列反应开展的热力学吉布斯自由能(Gibbs energy)计算结果。本次计算以表1中实测的流体化学数据为基础,针对以H₂、CH₄、CO及乙酸盐作为电子供体,O₂、NO₃⁻、SO₄²⁻作为电子受体的各类反应,计算了对应的吉布斯自由能变化量。本数据集的计算依托通过地球化学家工作台(Geochemist’s Workbench,美国伊利诺伊州尚佩恩市Aqueous Solutions LLC开发)开展流体组分形态计算所确定的活度值完成。本次数据采集的核心目标为评估这类能量受限流体环境中,微生物生存所需的可用能量。
