Lake Salubria Metagenomic Assembly. Lake Salubria Metagenome

A surface water sample was collected from Lake Salubria, New York, USA in April 2020 during a harmful cyanobacterial bloom that turned the lake a crimson color. Enrichment cultures originating from the water sample and favoring cyanobacteria were grown in lab conditions before metagenomic sequencing. The objective was to identify the causative species of the crimson bloom and to identify its potential to produce cyanotoxins.
