Hippocampal neurons were transfected with miRNA against cortactin, and cultured on polylysine-coated coverslips for 48 h. They were then fixed and immunostained with anti-shootin1 (red) and anti-cortactin (blue) antibodies. The vector for the miRNA is designed to coexpress EGFP (green).
