Gut microbiome of captive koalas in Japanese zoos. Phascolarctos cinereus

Koala (Phascolarctos cinereus) is a obligate eucalyptus leaf eater. Koala use specialized gut microbiome for digesting the eucalyptus leaves. This project analyze the gut microbiome of captive koalas in Japanese zoos to reveal their adaptation in the captive environment.
