Hominoid cranial and C5 3D landmark dataset for integration analyses

This dataset contains 3D landmark coordinates of the cranium and fifth cervical vertebra (C5) for five hominoid species (Homo sapiens, Pan troglodytes, Gorilla gorilla, Pongo pygmaeus and Hylobates lar), with 20 adult individuals per species, stored as an R object (.rds). It is provided as an example dataset for use with the Integration_Patterns function, and is intended for geometric morphometric and morphological integration analyses. To load the dataset in R: Hominoids <- readRDS("Hominoids.rds") Structure of the object: 1. Hominoids$crania: 3D array of cranial landmark coordinates (p × 3 × n) 2. Hominoids$C5_vertebrae: 3D array of C5 landmark coordinates (p × 3 × n) 3. Hominoids$species: factor indicating species identity 4. Hominoids$ids: specimen identifiers (e.g., Pan_troglodytes_01) Important: The order of individuals is identical across all elements Cranial and vertebral coordinates correspond to the same individuals in the same order This dataset accompanies the development of methods for comparing morphological integration patterns across species.
