The bacterium Pseudomonas oryzihabitans S420 was isolated from the root that cultivated under sterile conditions. Compared to the control, the biomass of giant ragweed increased by 34.73% in P. oryzihabitans S420 inoculated treatment, which may be attributed to the upregulation of genes involved in nutrient acquisition and photosynthetic efficiency. This suggests that the seed-root transmitted Pseudomonas play great role in the growth of A. trifida. These findings provide novel insights into the role of endophytes in the invasiveness of giant ragweed.
