RNAs can begin to fold immediately after emerging from RNA polymerase during transcription. Some RNAs form structural intermediates that can rearrange during transcription into functional forms to regulate gene expression. These sequencing datasets were generated using cotranscriptional SHAPE-Seq which measures structural information of nascent RNAs during transcription. The datasets describe the in vitro structure of two intermediate lengths and the full length of the B. subtilis yxjA guanine riboswitch. These datasets serve as inputs into computational RNA structure modeling algorithms that can reconstruct models of the folding pathway.
