The 4DCT dataset is a reference standard database for the medical imaging community, enabling objective and rigorous evaluation of the spatial accuracy of deformable image registration (DIR). Chest 4DCT images are acquired from two origins: one portion is collected as part of the standard treatment planning workflow for thoracic malignancies at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, while the other is obtained from the research archives of the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute.
