Insight on knowledge, risk perception and practices to prevent the spread of COVID-19: a cross-sectional study in Italian college students

The dataset was used in a cross-sectional study primarily aimed to investigate knowledge, risk perception and practices to prevent the spread of COVID-19 In one month period, between 1st and 31th of July 2020 a cross-sectional study was conducted in a representative sample of the Italian colege student of one public university of Calabria Region, that include both medical or life science and non-medical or life science courses. The information is collected through a online questionnaire that is filled in by respondents. The online survey was sent via institutional email. An anonymous and structured questionnaire was used, comprising of five sections: (1) the first section gathered data on demographic characteristics; (2) the second section evaluated students’ knowledge about COVID-19; (3) the third section evaluated risk perception related to COVID-19; (4) the fourth section evaluated adherence to prevent control measures on COVID-19; (5) the fifth section explored the information sources that students used to update their knowledge about COVID-19.

本数据集应用于一项横断面研究（cross-sectional study），该研究主要旨在探究新冠病毒（COVID-19）传播防控相关的知识、风险认知与行为实践。在2020年7月1日至31日这一为期一个月的周期内，研究团队在卡拉布里亚大区（Calabria Region）一所公立大学的具有代表性的大学生样本中开展了此项横断面研究，样本涵盖医学/生命科学类与非医学/生命科学类专业的学生。数据通过在线问卷收集，由受访者自行填写。本次在线调查通过官方邮件发送。本次研究采用匿名结构化问卷，共分为五个部分：(1) 第一部分收集受访者的人口统计学特征数据；(2) 第二部分评估学生对新冠病毒的认知情况；(3) 第三部分评估学生对新冠病毒的相关风险认知；(4) 第四部分评估学生对新冠疫情防控措施的依从性；(5) 第五部分探究学生用于更新新冠病毒相关知识的信息来源渠道。
