Data and R script used for the analysis in our manuscript "Perceived predation risk increases mobbing intensity in tits". Abstract : Mobbing is a widespread anti-predator strategy among prey species and can be considered as a form of cooperation. As such it is expected to be enhanced when the perceived risk of predation is locally increased. Here, through a manipulation of the landscape of fear (variation in the perceived predation risk 3 minutes per day), we study how it affects the propensity to engage in mobbing behavior of two Paridae species (great tit and blue tit). For our two target species, a high perceived risk of predation led to a greater engagement in mobbing behavior. Additionally, we found no difference in mobbing engagement between the two species (even though the acoustic stimuli used were only heterospecific for the great Tit), suggesting that heterospecific cooperation also increases when the risk of predation increases.
