This experiment is of a half-scale steel (ASTM A992 Grade 50) cruciform beam-column subassemblage comprised of a column and 2 half length beams at either end of the column. Specimen 3 uses the seated-type enhanced gravity connection that was developed as part of this research project and has vertical loads on each beam to simulate distributed gravity loads. The specimen was loaded quasi-statically using a modified version of the FEMA 461 loading protocol up to drifts of 9%. The objective was to evaluate the hysteretic behavior and seismic performance of a new type of enhanced gravity connection.

本试验对象为半比例ASTM A992 50级钢十字形梁柱子装配体,该装配体由一根柱及柱两端各一根半长度梁组成。3号试件采用了本研究项目开发的座式增强重力连接,并在每根梁上施加竖向荷载以模拟分布重力荷载。试件采用经改进的FEMA 461加载规程进行拟静力加载,直至侧移达到9%。本试验的目的是评估新型增强重力连接的滞回性能与抗震性能。
