Global-scale analysis of biochar cropland application strategies and their climate change mitigation potential using machine learning

This dataset supports the study “Global-scale analysis of biochar cropland application strategies and their climate change mitigation potential using machine learning”. It compiles field-based observations extracted from published literature to quantify crop yield responses and greenhouse gas emission changes (CO2, CH4, and N2O) following biochar application in croplands. The original literature data were curated, cleaned, and standardized to construct a preprocessed dataset for machine learning. The dataset includes separate files for crop yield response ratios and greenhouse gas response ratios, as well as a master dataset that integrates all data, with accompanying metadata describing file structure, variable abbreviations, and data characteristics.
