Félix Ziem's account book (1849-1883)

Félix Ziem (1821-1911) was one of the wealthiest painters of the nineteenth century in France. Recognized as the “painter of Venice”, he kept accounts during more than thirty years, from 1849 to 1883. The account book is an 86 page notebook curated at the Musée Ziem in Martigues. For an art historian, such a source is all the more valuable as it is unusual, especially for the primary art market.
