The objectives of this study were to determine the genetic architectures and relationships among anthocyanin pigment expression in scale leaves (ALS) and spear lesions (APS) and purple spot levels in spears (NPS) and ferns (PSF). This study advances the understanding of the genetic control of anthocyanin pigment at a tissue-specific level and purple spot in spear and fern, offering insights into inheritance mechanisms and supporting future breeding efforts.
