Electricity and productivity

This data set is an unbalanced panel data made from a firm survey in 2012 (Cissokho and Seck) and the World Bank investment climate and business environment surveys in 2007 and 2014 in Senegal. Firms are classified by size using the same criteria used in the World Bank business climate surveys. The two datasets are combined in an unbalanced panel covering only manufacturing firms, on the 461 units, 41.6 percent constitute the panel.

The main reason that justifies combining the two datasets is that they are based on the same core questionnaire, which is the questionnaire of the World Bank surveys.

Productivty data in the data set are estimated using the stochastic frontier analysis (Greene 2005a, 2005b, 2008) and data envelopment analysis (Wilson 2008).

本数据集为一组非平衡面板数据，源自2012年（Cissokho和Seck）对企业的调查以及世界银行在2007年和2014年进行的塞内加尔投资环境与企业经营状况调查。企业按照与世界银行商业环境调查相同的标准进行分类。这两个数据集通过非平衡面板的形式合并，仅覆盖制造业企业，共计461个单位，其中41.6%构成面板。合并这两个数据集的主要理由在于它们基于同一核心问卷，即世界银行调查问卷。数据集中的生产率数据采用随机前沿分析（Greene 2005a, 2005b, 2008）和数据包络分析（Wilson 2008）进行估算。
