资源简介:

What is already known on this topic: Foot and ankle tendinopathies are common causes of pain and functional limitation. Progressive loading is a central component of rehabilitation, but pain and load intolerance may limit activity during recovery. What this study adds: In this non-randomised pilot study, use of a powered plantarflexion-assist device was associated with greater short-term improvements in pain, lower-extremity function and daily physical activity than usual care. This provides a hopeful avenue for further exploration of wearable exoskeletons in the treatment of musculoskeletal injuries. How this study might affect research, practice or policy: These pilot data support further randomized evaluation of plantarflexion-assist exoskeleton use as an adjunct to physiotherapy for selected patients with persistent load intolerance and functional limitations with foot and ankle tendinopathy.
