Exploring for the Future; geomechanical testing program data release; Birrindudu and McArthur basins, Australia

This report presents the rock strength and elastic properties, as tested on selected rock samples from the Birrindudu and McArthur basins. Testing was conducted by CSIRO Energy, under contract to Geoscience Australia. The tests produced parameters including: 1) unconfined compressive strength (UCS), 2) stress-strain-time curves for UCS and repeat single-stage triaxial (STXL) experiments, 3) static elastic properties, Young’s modulus and Poisson’s ratio, and 4) failure envelopes (Mohr circles) for STXL tests. This work was conducted as part of the Exploring for the Future Program.

本报告呈现了针对取自比林杜杜盆地（Birrindudu）与麦克阿瑟盆地（McArthur）的选定岩样开展测试所得的岩石强度与弹性特性。本次测试由澳大利亚联邦科学与工业研究组织能源部（CSIRO Energy）受澳大利亚地质调查局（Geoscience Australia）委托完成。本次测试获取的参数包含：1）单轴抗压强度（unconfined compressive strength, UCS）；2）单轴抗压强度试验与重复单级三轴（STXL）试验的应力-应变-时间曲线；3）静态弹性特性，即杨氏模量（Young’s modulus）与泊松比（Poisson’s ratio）；4）三轴试验的破坏包络线（莫尔圆，Mohr circles）。本研究作为未来勘探计划（Exploring for the Future Program）的一部分开展。
