POLLEN ANALYSIS AT THE ECHO SPRING HOUSEPIT SITE (48CR6979), WYOMING

The Echo Spring Housepit site (48CR6979) represents an Opal phase Archaic
occupation southeast of Wamsutter, Wyoming in the Washakie Basin, which lies in the
southern portion of the Great Divide Basin. Two housepits and external features are located in
a sand dune on the west facing slope of a 'low ridge between two draws. The two housepits are
located immediately next to one another and each exhibits evidence of multiple occupations.
Radiocarbon ages range from 4480 to 5670 BP and represent three separate occupations. The
site is named for Echo spring, which is located approximately two miles to the southwest.

回声泉半地穴房址遗址（48CR6979）是一处位于怀俄明州万萨特东南方的奥帕尔期古风文化居留遗址，该遗址地处大分水岭盆地南部的沃夏基盆地。两处半地穴房址及相关外部遗迹分布于两条冲沟之间低矮山脊的西向坡面沙丘中。两处房址彼此紧邻，每一处均留存有多阶段居留活动的遗迹证据。该遗址的放射性碳定年结果介于4480至5670 BP，对应三次独立的居留活动。本遗址以回声泉命名，回声泉大致位于遗址西南方向约2英里处。
