This series consists of minute books of the Council of the Preston Institute of Technology 1968- 1981, including Preston Technical College 1966-1968 (VA 1212.) The Council was the governing authority of the Preston College/Institute.The minutes have been bound into five volumes, and each meeting has been signed and confirmed by the Chairman or President. The minutes record the events, actions and decisions of the Council regarding the management and control of the College/Institute. Topics that were discussed at the meetings included: general and academic staffing, finance, curriculum, buildings, liaison with government and non-government organisations, appointments and resignations of Council members, policies, and general administrative matters. The minute books also include regular financial reports, reports from the Principal, and reports from various subcommittees.
