Higher Education General Information Survey (HEGIS): Fall Enrollment and Compliance Report of Institutions of Higher Education, 1983-1984, HEGIS XVIII

<p>The Higher Education General Information Survey (HEGIS) series was designed to provide comprehensive information on various aspects of postsecondary education in the United States and its territories (American Samoa, Guam, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, and the Marshall Islands) and Department of Defense schools outside the United States. Data are available for both public and private two-year and four-year institutions. The HEGIS Fall Enrollment component for 1983 sought enrollment data from 3,330 institutions of higher education. Key data elements, presented for up to 12 record types for each institution (corresponding to the total enrollments summary), include number of full-time and part-time students by class level, sex, and race, as well as total number of students. Additional data include the institutions' type of accreditation and type of calendar system. (Source: downloaded from ICPSR 7/13/10)</p>

高等教育通用信息调查（Higher Education General Information Survey，以下简称HEGIS）系列项目，旨在全面收集美国本土及其所辖领地（美属萨摩亚、关岛、波多黎各、美属维尔京群岛与马绍尔群岛）境内，以及美国境外国防部直属院校的高等教育各维度相关信息。该数据集覆盖公立与私立的两年制及四年制高等院校。1983年HEGIS秋季招生子模块从3330所高等院校收集招生相关数据。针对每所院校最多12种记录类型（对应总招生汇总情况）的核心数据项包括：按年级、性别、种族划分的全日制与非全日制学生人数，以及学生总人数。额外收录的数据还涵盖院校的认证类型与校历系统类型。
