资源简介:
The yellow-spotted Amazon river turtle (Podocnemis unifilis), also known commonly as the yellow-headed sideneck turtle and the yellow-spotted river turtle, and locally as the taricaya, is one of the largest South American river turtles. It is native to South America's Amazon and Orinoco basins, as well as rivers systems of the Guianas (from Wikipedia entry). This sample was collected by Shannon DiRuzzo and Uwe Fritz from an adult male individual originally born in Burgers Zoo in Arnheim, Netherlands in 1998 and moved to Zoo Leipzig in Germany in 1999. Sequencing and assembly were conducted at the DRESDEN-concept Genome center (DcGC) and the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics (MPI-CBG), and the assembly is being included as an ordinal reference genome in the Vertebrate Genomes Project (VGP).
