Yb3Sn is Uranium Silicide-like structured and crystallizes in the hexagonal P6_3/mmc space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Yb is bonded in a distorted see-saw-like geometry to four equivalent Sn atoms. There are two shorter (3.41 Å) and two longer (3.52 Å) Yb–Sn bond lengths. Sn is bonded to twelve equivalent Yb atoms to form a mixture of face and corner-sharing SnYb12 cuboctahedra.
三镱化锡(Yb₃Sn)具有类铀硅化物晶体结构,结晶于六方晶系P6₃/mmc空间群。该晶体为三维结构。镱(Ytterbium,元素符号Yb)原子以畸变跷跷板型配位几何与四个等价的锡(Tin,元素符号Sn)原子成键,Yb-Sn键长分为两组:两个较短键长为3.41 Å,两个较长键长为3.52 Å。锡原子与十二个等价的镱原子键合,形成兼具面共享与角共享特征的SnYb₁₂立方八面体(cuboctahedra)。
