This study examines the bacterial community composition in the midgut of the earthworm Eisenia fetida. Bacterial community compositions are determined through amplification and sequencing of the v3-v4 hypervariable region of the 16S subunit rRNA gene using Illumina sequencing. Bacterial community compositions are assessed in experimental lab conditions under various stressor exposure scenarios including environmental pollutants and pathogens.
