This strain was isolated from samples obtained in June, 1998, on the research vessel Atlantis by using the deep-ocean-submersible vessel ALVIN at the hydrothermal vents located in the Main Endeavor Segment of the Juan de Fuca Ridge in the Pacific Ocean (47.57’N, 129.05’W), from depths of 2,000 to 2,200 m.The colonies were transparent and creamy, and was tellurite-reducing strain to grow media containing K2TeO3 and accumulate metallic tellurium. The genomic analysis would be helpful for the research on its metalloid resistance.
