The members who collected this data together were Adilah Ismail, Harshvir Hehar, Amrutha Balamurugan and Olivia Kazmierczak. The study sight was a grass land on campus with great sunlight and few clouds. The area had a couple of threes that were avoided to make sure direct sunlight was used for the data. To completely collect all the data for this experiment the group was given 40 minutes. A quadrant made by connecting meter sticks together to create a square was used 20 times to collect data of 20 random spots in the grass land and were analyzed by observation. The data collected for all 20 quadrants was the abundance (the amount of vegetation within each quadrant), the amount of different types of vegetation, as well as the amount of space the grass takes up within each quadrant and the grass with the other types of vegetation in percentages. All of this data is estimated through observation. The reasoning behind collecting this data is to understand how to take data outside of the field as well as see that in a grass land not ever 1mx1m part of it will be identical in its vegetation, also certain plan species do not thrive in every part of the grass land but only in certain areas.
