Reaction times

Reaction time data for this study was collected from publicly available official results posted on the World Athletics website (www.worldathletics.org). Results were gathered for the 100m, 100m hurdles, and 110m hurdles events across the last five world championships held in 2015, 2017, 2019, 2022, and 2023. For consistency, results from the recent Olympic games were neglected as they use a different timing system. The World Athletics Championships uses a timing and false start system from Seiko while the Olympics uses a system from Omega. We focused on sprint events with a straightaway start. Reaction times were recorded for the heats, semifinals, and finals.

本研究的反应时数据源自世界田径（World Athletics）官方网站（www.worldathletics.org）发布的公开官方赛事成绩。我们收集了2015年、2017年、2019年、2022年及2023年举办的近五届世界田径锦标赛中，100米、100米跨栏及110米跨栏项目的赛事结果。为保障数据一致性，我们未纳入近期奥运会赛事成绩，原因是二者采用了不同的计时系统：世界田径锦标赛使用精工（Seiko）的计时与抢跑判定系统，而奥运会则采用欧米茄（Omega）的相关系统。本次研究聚焦于直道出发的短跑项目，涵盖预赛、半决赛及决赛阶段的选手反应时数据。
