We generated and RNA-sequenced a cross of Humulus lupulus to identify, with SEX-DETector, sequences present on sex chromosomes. SEX-DETector is a probabilistic tool that estimates the probability for a gene of being sex-linked or autosomal. We identified 265 sex-linked genes in H. lupulus, among which 112 are also sex-linked in Cannabis sativa. Thus, we found sex chromosomes that are homologous between two plant genera, which is unique in plants.
