South China Sea Lagrangian Eddies Dataset

Rotationally coherent Lagrangian vortices (RCLVs) are detected from satellite-derived surface geostrophic velocities in the global ocean using the Lagrangian coherent structure detection method (Haller, 2016) based on the Lagrangian-averaged vorticity deviation (LAVD). The South China Sea (SCS) Lagrangian eddies dataset, with the time series from Jan. 2010 to Dec. 2015, is extracted from the global RCLVs atlas.

旋转相干拉格朗日涡旋（Rotationally coherent Lagrangian vortices，RCLVs）可通过基于拉格朗日平均涡度偏差（Lagrangian-averaged vorticity deviation，LAVD）的拉格朗日相干结构检测方法（Haller, 2016），从全球海洋的卫星反演表层地转流速数据中检测获取。本次公开的南海（South China Sea, SCS）拉格朗日涡旋数据集，时间序列覆盖2010年1月至2015年12月，数据提取自全球RCLVs图集。
