Surface soil temperature of a sesame crop in southwest Texas

This new version includes field-measured data of surface soil temperature, soil water content, air temperature, and leaf area index of a sesame crop under irrigated production condition during the growing season of 2015 in Uvalde, Texas, USA. It also includes R code for soil temperature modeling using empirical and numerical approaches. The dataset and computer code serve as supplementary material in support of a manuscript entitled "Improving near-surface soil temperature estimation using empirical and numerical methods in crop-covered surfaces", which is currently under peer-review.
