资源简介:
Dysfunction of early-stage hippocampal inhibitory circuits contributes to memory impairment and sleep disturbances in mouse models of Alzheimer's disease (AD), but interventions targeting specific interneuron populations remain underexplored. Parvalbumin (PV) inhibitory GABAergic interneurons in the central nervous system regulate sleep and excitatory synaptic plasticity, suggesting that PV manipulation may represent a novel early intervention to maintain or improve cognitive function in AD. This study evaluated the role of hippocampal PV interneurons in pathological changes and the effects of non-invasive 40 Hz sound entrainment during non-rapid eye movement (NREM 1/2) sleep in an animal model of Alzheimer’s disease, 5XFAD mice.
