Wellwood Farm rainfall data

Daily rainfall data from Wellwood Farm, and from adjacent rain gauges operated for several decades - Mountain Gauge, Woodcliffe and Trymore. This record forms part of a collection of historical rainfall data submitted to SAEON. The data were generated by farmers on a voluntary basis and have been published as submitted. Note that the digitised data is not complete and has been published as is, notes on the status of the data from SAEON's Arid Lands Node below: We uploaded all available data already by 6th January, all 11000 rainfall records, over 8k from Wellwood, and the rest from adjacent rain gauges operated for several decades, e.g. Mountain Gauge, Woodcliffe, Trymore. Annual totals from Goliadskraal early records are from another farm. Actual individual rainfalls were taken as the “true” data and sums were taken as derived (there were a few errors in summing here and there). The sums were invaluable for proofreading the data done on the 2-D spreadsheet. The 1-D records were derived from that (worksheet called “records”). What is missing is the other information concerning the nature of the precipitation. From 1876 onwards (i.e. year-3) this was always recorded, and later also the time of day or night as in “morning”, “afternoon”, “night” etc. This we have not entered except a trial on the “records” worksheet.

威尔伍德农场（Wellwood Farm）以及数十年来持续运行的周边雨量站——山地雨量站（Mountain Gauge）、伍德克利夫（Woodcliffe）和特里莫尔（Trymore）的逐日降雨数据。本数据集为提交至SAEON的历史降雨数据集的组成部分。该数据由农户自愿采集，并按照原始提交状态予以发布。请注意，本数字化数据集并非完整版本，将按原始状态发布。以下为SAEON干旱地区节点（Arid Lands Node）关于该数据集现状的说明：我们已于1月6日上传了所有可获取的数据，共计11000条降雨记录，其中超过8000条来自威尔伍德农场，其余来自数十年来持续运行的周边雨量站，例如山地雨量站、伍德克利夫及特里莫尔雨量站。戈利亚德斯克拉尔（Goliadskraal）早期记录中的年降雨量总量来自另一座农场。单场次实际降雨量被视为"基准真实数据"，而累计降雨量则为衍生计算所得（部分时段的求和存在少量误差）。累计降雨量数值对二维电子表格中的数据校对工作具有极高价值。一维记录（存于名为"records"的工作表中）即由此衍生而来。缺失的信息为与降水性质相关的其他数据。自1876年起（即第3年起），此类降水性质信息始终被记录，后续还新增了时段信息，如"上午""下午""夜间"等。但我们尚未录入此类信息，仅在"records"工作表中进行过试点录入。
